DEMEC's
work groups
Commissions the Medical-Scientific Department
With
the increase in requests for information, it became necessary for DEMEC to create
subject-specific work groups. Constituted by health professionals of the UDV
specialized in each area of work, the commissions have the following characteristics:
1. Scientific
Commission: evaluates research proposals presented to
DEMEC related to bio-psychological aspects of the use of Hoasca
in the context of the UDV.
2. Clinical
Commission: consisting of doctors, it monitors clinical aspects
related to the use of Hoasca tea.
3. Mental
Health Commission: consisting of mental health professionals, it monitors
and accompanies cases in the area of
mental
health professionals, it monitors and accompanies cases in the area of mental
health. Futher, it makes recommendations for situations involving Hoasca tea
and the use of neurological or psychiatric drugs.
