Positive
Evaluation
concentration, memory, balance and humor
The
evaluation of the general health condition (basal clinical evaluation) found
no damage to any system of the bodies of users of Hoasca tea. The evaluation
studied respiratory, cardiovascular, renal-metabolic, neurological and gastrointestinal
systems.
The evaluation
of mental health aspects was thorough.
The personality
analysis showed that the individuals from the UDV tend to be calmer, happier,
and more secure, positive, emotionally mature, organized, persistent and self-confident
than the individuals from the control group.
The study
indicated that regular users of Hoasca tea have a more positive attitude in
general. This result, correlated with the findings of the study of blood platelet
seratonin receptors, points to a possible anti-depressant effect of the tea.
The
CIDI psychiatric diagnostic inquiry evaluated current and previous occurrence
of all types of mental disturbances including substance abuse. The results obtained
demonstrate the absence of current psychological disturbance among the users
of the Vegetal in the UDV, including those that characterize "vice"
(abstinence, tolerance, abusive or anti-social behavior).
The
neuropsychological evaluation demonstrated that the members of the UDV had greater
powers of concentration and better short-term auditory memory response than
the individuals from the control group.
The
directing of preparos (preparation ceremonies) of Vegetal is entrusted to
mestres and counselors.
