Its members understand that a distorted perception of the abundant generosity of nature, a result of arrogance and presumption, has led modern man to treat nature as subordinate and perceive his humanity in terms of his capacity to dominate Nature and other humans.

Therefore, Novo Encanto guides its initiatives according to the belief that the only dominion that we can exercise over nature is a gradual process of self-knowledge, the dominion of the Self. In order for this to occur, it is necessary to substitute a relationship of aggressive consumption for a relationship of communion.

Novo Encanto's statutes consist of these principle objectives:

To defend life and work for Peace through the promotion, preservation and restoration of balance and harmony in the multiple relationships between man and nature;

To act in favor of the preservation of natural ecosystems, especially the great Amazon Rainforest;

To promote the study and research of the environment, identifying its principle processes and their implications for public health and well being;

To elaborate and secure resources for the implementation of specific projects of sustainability and ecologically balanced development;

To produce and publish informative and educational material in accord with the Association's objectives.
